SLEP, the Latin American Society for Pediatric Endocrinology was founded in 1986 under the leadership of César Bergadá. The society’s main goal is to integrate scientists of Latin America involved in basic and clinical research related to the field of pediatric endocrinology.
SLEP’s main activity is its Annual Meeting where investigators have the opportunity to present and discuss their research and where speakers of other continents are invited to give lectures.
Continuing Medical Education includes a Summer School before the annual meeting, sponsored by Pfizer.
Other important activities include Grants for young investigators sponsored by the pharmaceutical industry, awarding Prizes to the best research and diffusing information to and among Latin American pediatric endocrinologists.
